Hill City Residents Can Now Receive Qwest Broadband Service

Rapid City, SD - Qwest Communications International Inc. recently announced that broadband Internet service is now available in Hill City as a result of an investment to upgrade the local telecommunications network. With Qwest Broadband, Hill City residents can experience a high-speed broadband connection that provides them with immediate access to the Internet. The company now offers high-speed access to about 83 percent of households within Qwest's residential service area.

Qwest Broadband is easy to set up, easy to use and a great value. Customers get high-speed Internet access with a "one-click" connection and no dial-up wait. Qwest Broadband is up to 125 times faster than a dial-up connection, which allows customers to quickly send digital photos and attach large files. Plus, J.D. Power and Associates recently named Qwest "Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among High-Speed Internet Providers in the West Region."

"We are excited to bring Qwest Broadband to Hill City, and offer residents and businesses cutting-edge, advanced technology to stay connected," said Larry Toll, Qwest president for South Dakota. "Qwest's investment and interest in serving the needs of customers in Hill City reflect our commitment to delivering the Spirit of Service to the community."

Qwest Broadband provides great value for customers with super-fast performance (up to 7Mbps) and Microsoft Windows Live included at no additional charge. With new options for wireless home networking available, there has never been a better time to get Qwest Connect® Silver (download speeds up to 1.5Mbps) with Windows Live or Qwest Connect Platinum (download speeds up to 7Mbps) with Windows Live. (Availability will vary by location.) And with Qwest's Price for Life Guarantee, customers who sign a two-year agreement receive the same low monthly price for their Qwest Broadband service for as long as they maintain the service.

Windows Live Services by Qwest brings the essentials of the Internet experience together, and keeps customers better protected, informed and connected. Windows Live OneCare, included at no charge with Windows Live, offers customers one suite of services to protect and maintain their PCs with comprehensive anti-virus, anti-spyware and PC health — all in one place. Qwest Mail by Windows Live contains new features which make it easier to use e-mail, with up to 11 e-mail accounts, 2GB of storage, a reading pane that lets customers read their mail without leaving their inboxes, drag and drop functionality, advanced spam filtering and notification and AutoComplete population of addresses right out of their address books. And, Windows Live Services by Qwest includes a super-fast, persistent Web search that includes maps, directions and even images and video — built right into the browser so it's right at customers' fingertips.

Qwest also offers free resources for families to learn about safer and smarter use of the Internet. According to a recent study conducted by University of New Hampshire for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), one in seven children have received a sexual solicitation or approach while online. Qwest and NCMEC are working together to help educate parents and guardians about the potential risks children may encounter while online.
